Amnesia Trap (GL) - Chapter 54
“…No.”
Because she was still covering her mouth with her hand, Sheng Zhi nearly bit her own tongue as she blurted out the refusal.
How embarrassing!
Responding to Ji Qingfan’s kiss instinctively just now was embarrassing enough; if she were to agree to another one right after saying she hated her, it would be even more mortifying.
But her refusal clearly didn’t discourage Ji Qingfan.
Ji Qingfan continued to nuzzle against her hand, looking at her: “Why?”
Steam was practically rising from the top of Sheng Zhi’s head: “There is no ‘why.’ No means no.”
The tip of the other woman’s tongue was making her hand damp. The sensation reminded Sheng Zhi of the puppy she used to raise.
Ji Qingfan kept her voice low and light, sounding clingy and evocative: “Do you not like it? But Jiao Jiao, your eyes tell me that you clearly like it very much…”
Hearing Ji Qingfan say this, Sheng Zhi couldn’t help but recall the last few replies she had seen on the forum post before she deleted it—
One reply after another, all saying she was “acting tough while being soft inside.”
She looked at the inches-away Ji Qingfan; her thick lashes lowered and then lifted.
How could they say she was acting tough?
She truly didn’t like Ji Qingfan, but she did like beautiful things.
Who… who told Ji Qingfan to be so good-looking? The way she licked her hand was as cute as a puppy.
Sheng Zhi kept making excuses for herself internally. Then, as Ji Qingfan’s actions became increasingly bold, she dropped her hand and leaned in to kiss her with a sense of self-abandonment.
Fine, forget it. Stop thinking.
Ji Qingfan seemed not to have reacted yet to the transition from Sheng Zhi’s refusal to her sudden, intense kiss.
Their eyes met, and Sheng Zhi’s nerves pulled taut.
She knew exactly how unpredictable her behavior was. Fearing that Ji Qingfan would say more of those words that would put her on the defensive, she simply ignored everything else and pressed her into a kiss without leaving any room, making her unable to speak. Solving the problem at its root, she commanded: “Close your eyes.”
Her voice carried a slight, fine tremble.
The kiss grew more ferocious.
Between the entanglement of lips and teeth, they could barely breathe; any occasional sound was swallowed up in a blur.
When Sheng Zhi had suddenly kissed her like that, Ji Qingfan felt as if she had returned to that dream-like night. Even now, fireworks were exploding in her mind layer by layer.
Everything was proceeding according to her plan, almost methodically—
She had successfully become intimate with her, obtaining a level of closeness that, long ago, could only exist in her fantasies. Now, the impossible had become reality.
They would participate in the magazine’s public interview; the marriage would continue rather than end here.
It was a joyous progression, yet she felt increasingly uneasy. She knew very well that all this intimacy was the result of painstakingly calculated schemes.
Perhaps one day Sheng Zhi would remember everything, recall the hidden facts, and see through the illusion of her deception. Her true motives would have nowhere to hide, and at that time, Sheng Zhi would surely loathe her even more.
But, she was still base enough to prefer to stake everything on one throw, craving this indulgence.
The way Sheng Zhi kissed her was more intoxicating than any love poem.
She was willing to drown in these moments.
Sensing that Ji Qingfan was about to lose her footing, Sheng Zhi stopped the kiss.
Her tone sounded mocking, yet carried a strange, indefinable quality: “Ji Qingfan, you’re really not up to much. Just a few kisses and you’ve gone soft like this?”
Even though the kiss had stopped, the lips of the person who had been kissed for so long remained slightly parted, stained a moist red.
She hooked her arms around Sheng Zhi and didn’t deny it. She even proactively let the tip of her tongue peek out, instinctively seeking more; her eyes were filled to the brim with a longing love that was hard to endure: “Jiao Jiao… I still want more.”
The gaze directed at her was almost scorching; Sheng Zhi was nearly burned by it.
Having had true physical intimacy, hearing such words felt very different than before. Because there was now a concrete memory, that irresistible attraction was magnified.
She really is a bit too sensitive…
Is it because of the contact with her, or could anyone make her react this way?
Sheng Zhi’s fingertips tightened unconsciously.
In a fit of pique, Sheng Zhi reached out and brushed a strand of Ji Qingfan’s hair aside, intentionally trying to make her feel ashamed: “If you want something, you should state it honestly and clearly.”
Ji Qingfan didn’t answer. Her beautiful eyes lowered slightly. She tilted her head and used her teeth to pull the gemstone ring off Sheng Zhi’s finger, then looked up with curved eyes.
That smiling expression was mixed with alluring affection. Combined with the ring held between her teeth, it created a unique sensation that was both holy and devout, yet absurd and carnal.
Sheng Zhi saw her own reflection in those pupils.
The heat in her face began to climb again. She felt like a statue, with only her heart racing thump-thump-thump inside.
Say something, or do something…
Ji Qingfan could be this open with her; if she remained shy and overthinking, she would lose to her.
She refused to lose to her.
The images that had been tormenting her repeatedly these past few days broke out of control at this moment. Like an invisible phantom, they latched onto her wrist. She heard the phantom whispering sweet, cloying love words in her ear with a tearful voice.
“I like you so much…”
Hypocritical and full of schemes.
Recklessly burrowing into her arms.
Through a layer of fabric, she crushed that illusory sweetness—
Gradually, the phantom and the person in front of her overlapped.
A crisp, tiny sound rang out—it was the sound of the ring falling to the floor because it wasn’t held tightly enough.
The strength in Ji Qingfan’s grip slipped out of control, and she couldn’t stop a small sound from escaping her lips.
Hearing the sound, Sheng Zhi paused. She noticed something and stopped.
She had been provoked into losing control this whole time. Consequently, she desperately wanted to win a round back.
A wicked thought leapt to mind.
“Why did the ring fall?” she asked, knowing full well the answer.
Not expecting her to stop the movement at this moment, Ji Qingfan clutched Sheng Zhi’s clothes, her breath catching as she tried to apologize: “I’m sorry, Jiao Jiao, I didn’t hold it… because it was too…”
Sheng Zhi didn’t let her finish the explanation: “I see.”
She studied the other’s expression for a moment, hummed, and feigned regret: “Then what should we do?”
“I think, as a punishment…” She spoke as if she had just come up with the answer, “We should stop right here.”
Hearing those words, the corners of Ji Qingfan’s eyes reddened with a surge of anxiety: “You can’t.”
After saying it, she seemed to feel her tone was too blunt and softened it, pleading in a piteous, tiny voice, “Jiao Jiao, please don’t stop here, okay?”
“It feels so bad, I’m really just a tiny bit away…”
As she pleaded, she tried to sneakily nuzzle against her a few times, but she was pinned down mercilessly by Sheng Zhi.
Sensing that Sheng Zhi was truly withdrawing her hand, Ji Qingfan tried in vain to stop her, but the owner of the hand withdrew firmly, not accepting her plea.
Ji Qingfan was truly in distress now. Being suspended at the most awkward point, she was suffering so much she was on the verge of tears.
She completely lost her strength and, lacking support, nearly knelt on the floor to pick up the ring that had just fallen. She tilted her face up to look at Sheng Zhi: “It won’t fall this time…”
As she finished, she moved to bite the ring again, desperate to prove herself.
“Alright, it fell on the floor, why bother biting it,” Sheng Zhi took the ring from her hand. She took in the sight of Ji Qingfan in this moment, smiled sweetly, and said considerately, “We should tidy up and prepare for the public interview this afternoon.”
“However, I need to emphasize one thing…” At this point, she leaned down, brushed aside the long hair, touched Ji Qingfan’s neck, and pulled her weakened form up from the floor. “You are not allowed to ‘play’ by yourself. You know what I’m talking about. This is a punishment.”
