Amnesia Trap (GL) - Chapter 73
Hearing Ji Qingfan say this, Sheng Zhi felt a surge of curiosity.
“A birthday gift? Haven’t you already given me one?”
—The Prisoner Bird Flower crown, set with nearly sixty carats of Pink Star diamonds from the last century, was currently nestled in her hair.
“…I haven’t finished giving them yet,” Ji Qingfan said, her breathing slightly ragged as she adjusted her pace. Although her breathing steadied, her eyelashes still carried an imperceptible tremor. “Before I show Jiao Jiao the gift, may I blindfold Jiao Jiao’s eyes?”
How mysterious.
Even the eyes have to be covered?
Sheng Zhi obediently let her blindfold her, her curiosity only intensifying. This desire to know reached its peak after Ji Qingfan led her onto a private jet. What exactly was Ji Qingfan going to give her?
Thinking this, she couldn’t help but ask.
“You’ll know when Jiao Jiao arrives.” Ji Qingfan brushed a few strands of hair away from Sheng Zhi’s cheek and kissed the spot where her eyes were through the soft blindfold.
Because her vision was blocked, from boarding the plane to landing, Sheng Zhi had to hold Ji Qingfan’s hand, relying on her completely—and being able to rely only on her.
In the moments Sheng Zhi couldn’t see, Ji Qingfan enjoyed this feeling of total dependency with almost ecstatic pleasure. The deep-seated obsession, usually suppressed under a mask of restraint, crawled out from the depths of the marsh. This feeling… it was as if she only had her.
But eyes cannot stay blindfolded forever. No matter how the flight speed is adjusted, there is always a moment of arrival. She had to suppress the morbid cravings in her heart and return to being the normal, gentle-as-water lover.
“Jiao Jiao, we’re here.” Ji Qingfan personally removed the soft gauze from Sheng Zhi’s eyes.
Her eyes had been covered for so long that she wasn’t quite used to the light yet. Coupled with the fact that the environment wasn’t particularly bright, Sheng Zhi blinked several times. A breeze blew toward her, mixed with the scent of flowers and a slight dampness.
Her vision cleared quickly, and a sea island—beautiful to the point of being surreal—came into view. The seawater was a translucent azure, with layers of white waves rolling onto a pale pink sandy beach.
Sheng Zhi was stunned to see such a sight after the blindfold was removed. As she stood dazed, Ji Qingfan’s voice, rich with affection, sounded softly in her ear—
“Welcome to Fairytale Island.”
“Happy birthday, my Princess.”
As her voice fell, thousands of lights suddenly burst into bloom, lighting up the island with the brilliance of a thousand lanterns. Like a breathtaking scroll, it stretched out and unfolded before her eyes.
Sheng Zhi’s breath caught instantly.
…It was too beautiful.
It was a staggering beauty, a romantic gesture so full of sincere love that it was impossible to resist. It was a complete recreation in reality of the fantasies she had once dreamt up.
The sea stretched endlessly. They stood before a carved archway. The decorations on the island clearly took a great deal of effort; standing here, it truly felt like being in a fairytale world.
Under a faint, ethereal mist, giant candies seemed to float in the air. Innocent-looking deer and snow rabbits peeked out. Squirrels stood on branches holding pine nuts larger than their own faces, looking toward them as if hearing a sound.
Looking further, flower branches intertwined with vines, and butterflies spread their wings to land on blossoms, passionately surrounding a pure white ivory tower that looked like a castle.
“Are those little animals real?” Overwhelmed by the impact, Sheng Zhi looked at the lifelike animals in the distance. Even though she knew the answer, she couldn’t help but ask.
“They aren’t real… but they don’t feel much different from real ones. Does Jiao Jiao want to go touch them?” Ji Qingfan smiled at her with curved eyes.
Sheng Zhi couldn’t hold it in anymore. Her cheeks were stained with a beautiful, rose-like flush from the excitement. Her eyes were full of sparkling anticipation and love; she let out a happy sound and pulled Ji Qingfan through the carved archway with light steps, her swaying skirt carrying her joy.
How can Ji Qingfan be so good… she thought, feeling almost dizzy with happiness as she petted a rabbit.
Exploring the island for real, it was much larger than she had imagined. Everything was as beautiful as a dreamscape; there wasn’t a single spot that wasn’t exquisite. Only then did she find out that Ji Qingfan had personally made her a birthday cake. Compared to the multi-layered cake at the banquet that was cut in front of guests for ceremony, Sheng Zhi preferred this cake Ji Qingfan made for her.
She took many photos on the island. Not just of the scenery, but mostly of herself with Ji Qingfan. Her favorite was one taken under the glowing lights: she was smiling with a piece of cake in her hand, a bit of cream accidentally smeared on the tip of her nose, while Ji Qingfan leaned in to kiss her cheek. The high-definition lens captured even their thick lashes clearly, and the tender, warm atmosphere almost radiated from the photo.
She actually had several birthday wishes. But if only one could come true… she hoped that Ji Qingfan would be by her side every year to celebrate her birthday. Sheng Zhi thought with lingering excitement that she must print all these photos out.
—Print them out, keep them safe, and then look through them over and over with Ji Qingfan every year.
“Does Jiao Jiao like it here?”
Inside the glass flower house, vibrant petals climbed up a pure white swing set. Amidst the mottled shadows of the flowers, they lay down side-by-side, facing each other.
Softly interlacing their fingers, Ji Qingfan took her hand and stroked it gently.
“What do you mean ‘like it’?” Sheng Zhi felt Ji Qingfan’s question was far too restrained. “It’s ‘love it, love it, love it’!”
She was completely filled with happiness and joy. The corners of her mouth wouldn’t stay down.
“I’m so glad Jiao Jiao likes it,” Ji Qingfan said. Her grip loosened slightly as she slowly and meticulously rubbed Sheng Zhi’s knuckles. Her volume dropped, murmuring in a blurred, self-muttering way, “…If only I could hide Jiao Jiao here, where only I can see you.”
Sheng Zhi didn’t hear clearly and instinctively let out a slight, questioning hum.
Ji Qingfan snapped out of it and curved her eyes: “Did you not hear clearly? I was indeed speaking too softly.” Her tone was light and natural: “I just said it would be nice to live on the island with Jiao Jiao for a few days, but I didn’t know if Jiao Jiao would be willing to stay here.”
…Stay on the island for a few days?
Hearing this, Sheng Zhi immediately nodded in cheerful agreement. In fact, she didn’t even need Ji Qingfan to suggest it; she had the same idea. After all, the island was so big, and she wanted to walk through it carefully to see all the details soaked in love.
Just thinking about it made her heart feel soft and tingly. Building all of this must have taken a lot of work; she couldn’t even imagine how long Ji Qingfan had been preparing.
…Ji Qingfan really loved her so much. She had actually doubted whether her love was real before; she really shouldn’t have.
With less than an inch between them, after answering, Sheng Zhi looked at Ji Qingfan’s eyes—where the smile was growing clearer—and unable to restrain her affection, she kissed her brow and eyes. Sliding from her brow to her cheek, and finally landing on her lips.
“I’m sorry,” Sheng Zhi said suddenly with an apologetic tone as they clung together. Their lips were nearly touching, their breath so light it created a faint itch.
“Why is Jiao Jiao apologizing to me?” Ji Qingfan’s lips moved as she leaned in for a sticky kiss. Sheng Zhi’s lip shape was very beautiful and easy to kiss. She hungrily licked and kissed her lip.
“I just feel like I’ve let you feel aggrieved for too long…” Sheng Zhi responded as she spoke.
“Is Jiao Jiao feeling sorry for me?” Ji Qingfan paused for a second upon hearing this, then suddenly sighed in response. “…It was very aggrieved. So Jiao Jiao must love me more and more. Love only me.”
“I will,” Sheng Zhi said, the soft emotions in her heart rippling like water. She held her, sincere and moving. “I only love you.”
The more she thought about it, the more she felt she truly had made Ji Qingfan suffer for too long, especially with the stubborn things she had said in the past. She had to break her habit of being “duplicitous,” work hard to become better—to be a mature, gentle, and considerate lover—and love her well so she wouldn’t feel aggrieved. In terms of work, too, she needed to improve her skills.
The kisses were dense, light, and slow. However, this slowness gradually became harder to control amidst the repeated entanglement of their lips. Moisture shimmered in the contact and entanglement that was so intense they were nearly out of oxygen.
Ji Qingfan squinted and bit her lip slightly, reaching out to take the Prisoner Bird Flower crown from Sheng Zhi’s hair. As the waterfall of long hair fell, she stroked her fingers into the cloud-like silk.
“Jiao Jiao…”
The rise and fall of their breath had long since become irregular.
Sheng Zhi kissed her lips, then kissed down to her heartbeat.
“Sister, your heart is racing so much.” She almost took the sound of every heartbeat into her lips.
“Because I like it so, so much…” Ji Qingfan echoed the words Sheng Zhi had used earlier, only speaking in a more broken manner.
“Like what?” Sheng Zhi nuzzled against her palm with her movements, as if acting spoiled.
“Mhm, I like Jiao Jiao… I like Jiao Jiao calling me ‘Sister,’ I like Jiao Jiao kissing me like this, I like being with Jiao Jiao…”
Her tone was so wet it seemed ready to drip. Sheng Zhi kissed her way down bit by bit.
“Keep talking.” She licked her, like a cat happily high on catnip. The corners of her eyes and brows were tinged with a heart-stopping, magnificent beauty.
The fragrance in the glass house was so heady it almost overflowed. The translucent moisture they didn’t have time to swallow flowed away with time. The evening gown and the qipao were crumpled to the side. The boundary between the hour hand and the minute hand became blurred.
The moisture was once so abundant it dripped from her fingertips. But Sheng Zhi gradually began to feel unsatisfied with just this touch; she wanted to press closer. Closer, even closer. Until skin was completely pressed against skin.
The contact was a supple, oily smoothness. The ankle bone she touched with her palm was like lustrous white jade. Too many times—the threshold had been forced low. Just by touching like this, Ji Qingfan couldn’t help but be forced to tears, once again, and then again.
Sheng Zhi ground against her lightly: “Are you okay?”
Even though they had agreed beforehand that if she truly couldn’t take it, she would call her by her full name. But looking at Ji Qingfan, Sheng Zhi felt she might be being a bit too excessive. Ji Qingfan still didn’t call her by her full name; her moist eyes were full of allure. Instead, she became even more cooperative, even though her slightly raspy voice carried a low, piteous tone.
…This feeling of being completely pressed together was truly too good.
Sheng Zhi bit her moist knuckles. At first, she wanted to slow down, but the more she thought that, the more she couldn’t hold back. At the same time, the sea surface was covered in silvery moonlight. She held her, as if holding a handful of moonlight—constantly shaking, endlessly swaying, never-ending rocking.
One moment in the clouds, the next in the water.
