To Covet (GL) - Chapter 84
I slid back, half-sitting on the dining table; my toes could touch the floor, yet they couldn’t fully support my weight. My entire center of gravity had to rely on her hand supporting my lower back.
Her lips lightly kissed across my collarbone, leaving the shoulder strap feeling wet and cool. Then, she caught the bow tied by the strap in her teeth and gave it a tug; half of the nightgown slid down against my skin.
I instinctively reached out to grab it, but my hand accidentally touched the cake on the table. She cleaned me carefully… or rather, licked the cream off my knuckles before biting down along the exposed skin of my shoulder.
“Mhm… Sister…” I wrapped my arms around her neck. Her loose, soft long hair brushed against me, tickling.
Yu Zhouwan bit and sucked on my erect nipple. I could feel her intentionally making wet sounds while staring at the restrained yet addicted expression on my face. I didn’t dare look down at her, instinctively pushing my body forward to meet her movements, my arms tightening around her neck.
“I just took a shower…”
I buried my face in the hollow of her neck. The alternating heavy and light biting and licking made me gasp along with her movements. Muffled moans—deliberately suppressed but impossible to stop—slipped through her falling hair and brushed against my burning ear.
She kissed the slightly swollen nipple. Realizing I wanted to push her away, she grabbed my hand and caught the bow on the other side with her teeth to untie it. The nightgown peeled away entirely and slid onto the table.
She wiped a handful of cream and smeared it across my chest. The touch was icy, but my entire body had already been awakened by her lips and teeth; I was hypersensitive to any touch. When she leaned down to lick it off again, I trembled uncontrollably. My naked upper body was held in her arms, and I felt nearly limp against her.
“Mhm, it really is fragrant.” As the kisses deepened again and again, she spoke softly to me, as if sharing a secret, “Especially sweet.”
I was almost in a daze, forgetting how she carried me to the bathroom. She asked me how to adjust the temperature, which towel was for bathing, and if the water was too hot or too cold. Every spot she had just kissed was cleaned once more, and the sensations that hadn’t yet faded were amplified again.
I held her hand, fingers interlaced, briefly setting aside the distress of the past few days spent weighing pros and cons.
The water flowing from her hand onto my skin felt like a sedative, leading me into a deceptive, lost trance like a Peach Blossom Spring. Everything outside this warm, yellowish room ceased to exist; only the Yu Zhouwan before me was real. The hand deep inside my body was real, the clamoring pleasure of my flesh was real, and this current stability felt like an eternal state for the rest of my life.
I couldn’t help but wonder: if there were no entanglement of blood relations between Yu Zhouwan and me, and if we had met in a normal way, would this scene still be happening?
To this question, I think the answer is most likely no.
If no unbreakable bond existed between us, we would forever have been people from two different worlds. I wouldn’t have fantasized about the charming, dark fetishes hidden beneath the Miss’s glamorous exterior, and she naturally wouldn’t have allowed me any act of offense against her pride and dignity.
But all of this had happened irrevocably. Reason was like scattered trees on a landslide-prone slope, cruelly uprooted, swept away, and crushed.
I lay on the bed, the moisture on my body not yet fully dissipated, before suddenly springing up to kiss her lips.
In my peripheral vision, the phone screen suddenly lit up. I knew it was a call from Lu Xiaoting, followed by message after message after several missed calls. The buzzing vibration was like a warning signal of an impending alarm.
“Who is it?” she asked me.
“A classmate.” I quickly switched it to silent. “It’s nothing, don’t worry about it.”
I curled up in her scent. The balance that had already tilted felt a faint trend of loosening and reversing.
When a person’s emotions burst their banks, they need a wall to lean on—even a dangerous, crumbling wall doesn’t matter.
“I booked a flight for the 10th,” Yu Zhouwan drew a cross on my back through my clothes. “Can you take me to the airport then?”
“I have to go. I have to go to the UK.” She looked into my eyes and spoke with gravity.
“You haven’t told me yet, which school did you finally choose?” I asked her.
“Glasgow, GSA.” She showed me a screenshot of the offer page. “Visual Communication.”
“Why go so early? Doesn’t school start in September?”
“I want to go for a walk. Before school starts, I want to travel to some other places.”
“That’s nice, Yu Zhouwan,” I rested my head on her thigh. “Will your mother make things difficult for you with tuition because you didn’t choose Manchester in the end?”
“No, that wouldn’t benefit her.”
Yu Zhouwan analyzed the reasons and evidence for me seriously. Just like that day a year ago when I stood in the school building, watching her in the darkness of the opposite building interacting with classmates. I couldn’t hear her words, but they must have been as confident and resonant as they were now.
“Besides, several professors she knows are in the UK. Mom won’t joke around with her reputation in her circle of acquaintances.”
“What do you want to do after that?” I asked her.
“I haven’t thought about it yet. We’ll talk about the future later.” She was optimistic about it. “What about you, Yu Keyi? Which city do you want to go to for university? South or North? Or study abroad?”
“Study abroad? Forget it.” I instinctively thought of the high costs and rejected the option without hesitation. I added, “I’m not mentally prepared for it yet. Maybe I’ll consider it for grad school. Anyway, we’ll talk about the future later.”
I forgot when I fell asleep. When I woke up, the day was already bright outside.
Yu Zhouwan was long gone. She had wiped the table clean, and the cake had been neatly boxed and put in the fridge.
After washing up, I opened the messages I hadn’t replied to last night. Lu Xiaoting had sent a long string of voice notes.
“I didn’t check my phone last night,” I typed a reply while listening. “Is something wrong?”
“Are you free now?” she replied instantly. “Come out and talk.”
The nanny had bought breakfast and returned, so I turned off the voice notes and converted them to text.
The gist was that the lawyer said if they wanted to appeal, they had to find evidence that Lu Xiaoting’s mother was indeed coerced into signing back then. They also had to prove she wasn’t truly involved in the sale of illegal drugs. She had been running around for days asking former employees, but they seemed to have reached a tacit agreement to keep strictly silent, all saying they “forgot” or were “not sure.”
“I know they’re afraid of being dragged in and sentenced. And believe it or not, that woman definitely gave them a lot of money. So I have to find another way.”
“Do you have a way?” was the last message Lu Xiaoting sent me.
I said to the air and the wall, “I don’t know.”
Lu Xiaoting asked to meet me in the evening. I handed everything over to her without reservation.
If Lu Xiaoting telling me not to get involved before was some kind of reverse psychology, I now truly felt like backing out. I simply didn’t want to sink deeper into this mess.
“Have you looked at these?”
“No.” I shook my head.
“Aren’t you curious about what kind of role your mother played in this?”
I was curious.
However, on one hand, Yang Chun was dead and couldn’t defend herself; on the other hand, I admitted my memory would continuously idealize the “Mother” figure. Although I had a faint premonition, I still didn’t want to know any more negative details.
“This one doesn’t have a battery. It’s hard to find a match for this old model.” Lu Xiaoting took off the back cover of the phone. “Do you have a battery for this?”
“No.”
I lied. I clearly had an identical phone I could use.
