“My, what a rare guest.” Nan Yue looked at Lin Chen’s sudden visit with a touch of surprise.

Although her friend had promised to come out more, a pile of things like her daughter’s birthday, her special period, and school activities had kept her away. Furthermore, the raw materials for the transformation drug were newly discovered; whether they would have unknown side effects in the future was a mystery. Consequently, there wasn’t much support for the former faction at the time.

Ultimately, the latter faction won, and the development of the drug Yi Fei led was halted halfway. Nan Yue had been neutral then; due to past experiences, she had no good impression of Alphas, but she didn’t loathe them as Yi Fei did. The reason she eventually voted for the second group was the unknown side effects, and because she felt Omegas were the most beautiful—why would anyone want to become a detestable Alpha?

Perhaps because they had similar experiences and a deep interest in pharmacology, she, Yi Fei, and Lin Chen had become good friends. Lin Chen was the middleman who introduced them. “I saw Mu Huo recently,” Lin Chen recalled the experience of Yun Qi taking them to the haunted house for Xi’er’s birthday.

Mu Huo wouldn’t harm her; Lin Chen was certain of that. After calming down, she told Mu Huo what she had told Nan Yue. After hearing it, Mu Huo promised Lin Chen that Yi Fei’s disappearance had nothing to do with him.

“Do you still have the drugs she gave you?”

“Used them all.” Yi Fei hadn’t given him many. After testing their effectiveness, not many were left, and he had given some to his friends.

“Fine.”

Afterward, Lin Chen visited several other old friends, but none of them knew Yi Fei’s whereabouts.

Lin Chen felt a bit of regret. When she was looking for Yi Fei before, she had held back out of old affection and didn’t state the reason.
