After Differentiating into an O, Pampered by an A - Chapter 35
Ye Xing had originally assumed Shen Yushu would take her to a restroom to clean up, but she hadn’t expected to be brought into a private, exclusive VIP lounge.
When the door opened, it wasn’t so much a “lounge” as it was a room that rivaled a luxury hotel suite. It was fully equipped with every amenity imaginable—a completely different layout from the room Ding Ling and the others were in next door.
Noticing Ye Xing hesitating at the threshold, Shen Yushu let go of her wrist. Her lashes lowered, catching sight of the girl’s fingertips turning a pale white from gripping the hem of her stained dress.
Shen Yushu’s red lips moved, and she arched a beautiful eyebrow, whispering, “What? We are both Alphas—are you afraid I might mark you or something?”
Hearing this familiar line of dialogue, Ye Xing wrinkled her nose and looked up. “I didn’t think you were the type to hold a grudge. Fine, this place is certainly more convenient than a bathroom.”
Shen Yushu’s brow furrowed slightly at the comparison of her private lounge to a restroom. Seeing Ye Xing step inside, Shen Yushu closed the door and shook her head with a helpless, faint smile.
Although they had dabbed at the spill earlier, the residual red wine had dried, leaving a pale red stain on Ye Xing’s fair, delicate skin. It looked as if a pair of translucent wings had been painted onto her beautiful shoulder blades.
Shen Yushu walked to the wardrobe and pulled out a spare gown Sun Xi had prepared for her.
“Take it off,” Shen Yushu said slowly.
“What?” Ye Xing turned around, meeting Shen Yushu’s clear eyes. She immediately responded with an awkward, guarded look. “That’s not appropriate. We’re both Alphas… you aren’t trying to… to see my body, are you?”
Hearing Ye Xing’s dazed and cute response, Shen Yushu couldn’t help but let out a low laugh. She wanted to ask: Is there any part of you I haven’t seen?
Of course, she only said that in her head.
Ye Xing was only joking to break the ice, because for some reason, every time she was alone in a room with Shen Yushu, she felt an inexplicable nervousness. She felt that Shen Yushu’s misty “peach-blossom” eyes held something different from the previous cold indifference—something she couldn’t quite put her finger on.
Seeing her smile now, Ye Xing felt the atmosphere relax significantly. Wait, why is this woman’s smile so captivating?
Shen Yushu quickly checked her smile. She placed the gown over the back of the sofa near Ye Xing and said indifferently, “Take off the one you’re wearing and put this on. Unless you plan on walking out of this venue wearing a red-wine graffiti dress?”
Ye Xing had wanted to suggest she could just wash it with water, but then she caught sight of the full-length mirror by the wine cabinet. She turned around to look at her back.
Holy crap. The entire back of her skirt was a mess of white and red patches.
“Sister Ling is going to kill me. This dress is officially a goner.”
She began calculating the price of the dress in her head. It wasn’t that she couldn’t afford to pay for it, but it felt like a waste to ruin such a beautiful gown without having done anything. She actually quite liked it!
Shen Yushu saw Ye Xing’s face scrunch up and guessed her thoughts. She stepped closer. “Don’t worry. This dress isn’t worth much. If you like it, I’ll have them send you a few more later.”
Ye Xing clicked her tongue internally. Shen Yushu is certainly generous with women. A dress worth over a hundred thousand sounds like ten bucks coming from her mouth.
“Forget it. You should save those to give to your ‘canonical partner’ downstairs, the Best Actress Tao Jingyun. We’re just neighbors; I can’t accept such a huge favor.”
With that, Ye Xing picked up the clothes from the sofa. Her eyes quickly locked onto the inner room behind Shen Yushu, intending to change there. But just as she moved, she was called back.
“Wait. What ‘canonical partner’?”
Ye Xing’s long lashes fluttered. She arched a brow as if to say, You don’t know?
Shen Yushu knew, of course, but she wanted to confirm if Ye Xing’s meaning matched her own. Guessing that if Ye Xing knew Tao Jingyun’s name, she must have seen her grand entrance earlier, Shen Yushu said slowly, “It was an official event. The organizers asked me to accompany Tao Jingyun for the entrance.”
“Huh? I didn’t ask you that…”
Ye Xing hadn’t expected Shen Yushu to interpret her “canonical partner” comment that way. Although there was a slight misunderstanding, hearing Shen Yushu offer an unprompted explanation felt like finally getting a bite of that cake she missed out on earlier. Her mood improved instantly, and her smile turned sweet.
“Never mind, I can’t explain it to you. I’m going to change; Sister Ling is waiting for me.” She headed into the inner room.
Shen Yushu sat slowly on the sofa, her expression cool as if she were still pondering Ye Xing’s words.
Suddenly, a noise came from the room.
“Damn, why is this dress so hard to take off?!”
Ye Xing had her slender arms bent behind her back, trying to untie the ribbons winding around the rear of the dress. But the fabric was damp, causing the bow-tied straps to tighten and knot together, making them impossible to undo. Since there was no mirror in the room, she had been fumbling blindly for ages without success.
Her arms were starting to ache. Finally, she decided to try and slide it down from her shoulders.
Shen Yushu heard the struggle from outside. “Do you need help?”
“N—” Ye Xing’s refusal died in her throat. She looked down at the halfway-removed, complicated dress and felt like a wrapped rice dumpling. Left with no choice, she agreed: “Fine. Please come help me. Thanks.”
She had been gone for a while, and the screenwriter and Sister Ling were still next door. She had to get back quickly, or it would be rude.
Hearing this, Shen Yushu rose from the sofa and pushed open the door.
To her surprise, she was met with Ye Xing’s gown slumped loosely around her waist. Her slender white back was exposed, showing the shallow indentations of her waist and shoulder blades that looked like exquisite, fragile porcelain.
This was the first time Shen Yushu had seen Ye Xing’s body so clearly without any obstructions. Memories of that night flooded her mind instantly. From across the small distance, she seemed to smell that sweet pheromone scent again.
Her throat tightened, and the air in the room felt stiflingly hot.
Ye Xing had called for help, but seeing Shen Yushu just standing there, she pointed to the black silk ribbon around her neck and urged, “Shen Yushu, help me out! I can’t untie this strap; my arms are so sore.”
Shen Yushu gave a faint “Mm” and stepped up behind her.
Ye Xing had taken off her heels; her toes were slightly buried in the velvet carpet, exposing her slender ankles. Because of the height difference, Shen Yushu’s eyes were level with the back of Ye Xing’s white, elegant neck.
In the backlight, the fine, soft hairs there seemed to be gilded with a fuzzy gold light. The damp black ribbon made Shen Yushu’s mind wander for a moment.
Ye Xing had pushed the dress down to her feet; she was only wearing her undergarments now, standing like a delicate flower in full bloom before Shen Yushu. Her hands were still reaching back, sounding anxious: “Shen Yushu, can you do it or not? Hurry up and untie this thing, I’m in a hurry.”
Ye Xing’s voice pulled Shen Yushu back from her hazy thoughts. Her voice turned suddenly husky. “Mm. Don’t move.”
Her slender fingertips touched the silk ribbon, slowly helping her untie it. However, she noticed that the invisible patch over Ye Xing’s glands was peeling off at the edge. As Ye Xing shifted, it was slowly falling away.
Shen Yushu reached out to press it back on, but her hand was blocked by Ye Xing’s elbow as the girl reached for the new gown. With that movement, the patch fell silently to the floor.
With her hair up, Ye Xing’s glands were now completely exposed to the air.
Shen Yushu’s breathing grew heavy. She wasn’t even in her rut, yet she felt a lingering heat rising in her neck. Her hand, frozen in the air, retracted quickly. She lowered her lashes, trying to calm her breathing and her heart, which had suddenly skipped several beats.
A flush of crimson stained her exquisite features. She didn’t dare look at Ye Xing again, nor did she want to touch her, but the more she suppressed it, the more difficult it became. Her mind and her nose were filled with the scent of Ye Xing’s pheromones.
Shen Yushu had never encountered this before. She had only looked at Ye Xing’s glands for a second. Did she already need an inhibitor? The thought caused a flash of panic.
Her voice was cold and husky: “Finish changing on your own. I’m going out.” She turned to leave.
“Wait! Help me with the zipper. Why is your dress so complicated too? Next time I’m definitely picking a minimalist style.”
Ye Xing had no idea the struggle occurring in Shen Yushu’s mind. She turned her head, saw Shen Yushu standing there, and gave a shallow smile. “If you’re going to help, help me until the end, okay?”
She reached behind her and leaned toward Shen Yushu. “Can you see if the zipper is stuck?”
Shen Yushu looked down at her. Her gaze grew increasingly deep. “Ye Xing, are you seducing me?”
“Huh?”
Ye Xing dropped her aching arms and turned around to look at the grim-faced Shen Yushu. She whispered, “Weren’t you the one who asked if I needed help? We’re both Alphas; why would I seduce you?”
The subtext was: If I were to seduce someone, it would be an Omega.
Ye Xing didn’t realize her words had successfully ignited Shen Yushu’s anger. The gaze of the person before her became even more profound, like a hunter who had locked onto a prey.
Being an Alpha herself, Ye Xing eventually sensed the desire behind Shen Yushu’s eyes. She stepped back, her fair feet moving slowly. The half-worn dress slipped a little more with her movement until her back hit the cold wall. There was nowhere left to retreat.
Seeing the increasingly manic look in those eyes, Ye Xing’s pupils trembled. She clutched the clothes that were about to slip past her chest and said nervously, “Shen Yushu, what are you doing? Are you in your rut?”
Yet, she didn’t smell any pheromones in the air.
Shen Yushu’s red lips were vivid as she stared at Ye Xing, pinning her against the wall. Her voice was low and raspy: “I helped you. Why don’t you help me back?”
Ye Xing took a deep breath, and the word “Help!” was about to leave her throat.
Suddenly, the door was pushed open from the outside.
Sun Xi walked in with a look of joy. “President Shen, I’ve already spoken to the brand—” Her voice died away. The rest of her sentence was sucked back in with a gasp.
She stood frozen in a state of “pupil earthquake,” looking at the two people whose clothes were in various states of disarray. Her mind went blank.
“I mean… sorry to disturb you two. I’m sorry…!”
With a Bang, the door was slammed shut.
Ye Xing was still trapped in the corner by Shen Yushu. Seeing Sun Xi’s familiar face was like seeing a savior. She shouted toward the door: “Assistant Sun, help! Your President is in her rut! Get an inhibitor, quickly! I can’t help her!”
