After Differentiating into an O, Pampered by an A - Chapter 36
Sun Xi wished she could step on a set of Wind-Fire Wheels to escape; she couldn’t care less about Ye Xing’s “cry for help” behind her.
“Tsk, our President Shen really plays wild! Alpha and Alpha… impressive, truly impressive.”
Inside the room, hearing that the outside had gone completely silent, Ye Xing pursed her red lips and told herself to stay calm. Shen Yushu liked top-tier, soft, fragrant Omegas like Tao Jingyun.
After regaining some reason, Ye Xing wasn’t as panicked as she was at the start. she looked up at Shen Yushu and whispered, “Um, Shen Yushu, calm down. I know the rut is hard to endure, but you can’t just lose track of who’s an ‘A’ and who’s an ‘O.’ Wait here, I’ll… I’ll go find you an inhibitor.”
With that, taking advantage of a moment when Shen Yushu wasn’t paying attention, she covered her chest and slipped out from under Shen Yushu’s arm like a fish. Ignoring the unzipped back of her dress, she bolted out of that oppressive room.
In front of the hallway mirror, Ye Xing quickly tidied her appearance. Just as she was about to make a run for it, she turned and saw Shen Yushu leaning lazily against the doorframe with her arms crossed. The flush on her face had faded, replaced by her usual cool paleness, but her beautiful “peach blossom” eyes were still misty with a bewitching haze.
Ye Xing jumped. “Look, if you really can’t handle it, should I head out and ask Assistant Sun to find two Omegas for you?”
Ye Xing’s words caused the fire Shen Yushu had finally suppressed to flare up again. Her gaze darkened, and her cold voice drifted over: “Not interested. And I’m not in my rut.”
Ye Xing: “…”
So that look like she wanted to eat me alive just now was just her messing with me? Ye Xing suddenly felt a bit annoyed.
She pushed open the door to leave, her eyes instinctively scanning both sides of the corridor, terrified that someone might see them and misunderstand what “bad things” she and Shen Yushu had just been doing. After all, she went in and came out in a different dress.
Carrying that inexplicable guilt, Ye Xing returned to her original private room. Only after sitting down did she realize her heart was thumping wildly.
Ruan Nian’an and Ding Ling had finished their pleasant chat. Since her partner had arrived, Ruan Nian’an had already headed down to the main hall. Ding Ling had been waiting for Ye Xing for a while and was surprised to see her return with a flushed face.
She went to the restroom and came back in a different gown?
Ding Ling asked nervously, “Where are your clothes?”
Ye Xing gave a bitter smile. “They’re on me, aren’t they? You’re making it sound like I’m streaking.”
“No, I mean the one you were wearing before. And where did this one come from? Don’t tell me you snuck off to hit on an Omega and ruined your dress…”
Ye Xing’s brows knit instantly. “Sister Ling, what are you saying? Am I that kind of person? The dress got dirty, but it’s not what you think.”
After hearing Ye Xing’s brief summary of what happened, a smile curled onto Ding Ling’s lips. “Oh, so you went to hit on an Alpha, and a ‘Cold A’ who can’t even be seduced at that.”
“Sister Ling—!”
“Alright, alright, I’m done teasing. Business first. While you were away, I chatted more with Ruan Nian’an. Crap, do you know who her current script is for?”
Ye Xing put her head down to smooth out the skirt Shen Yushu had wrinkled, shaking her head like a rattle. Her mind was full of Shen Yushu’s deep gaze and those ambiguous, teasing words; her heart was beating faster by the second. She didn’t really listen to Ding Ling and just kept nodding at everything.
A moment later, a server knocked to remind them that the gala’s highlight—the auction—was about to begin. Ye Xing didn’t want to go, but before she could say she wanted to rest, Ding Ling pulled her up. “Let’s go down. Maybe you’ll run into Ruan Nian’an again and can talk more.”
Forced to “work,” Ye Xing lifted her heavy skirt, tucked away her pouting lips, and put on a beautiful smile. Life isn’t easy; artists sell smiles for a living.
The venue had been rearranged into an auction hall. Ye Xing descended the pale gold staircase gracefully. On the stage, the brand’s new limited-edition pair of rings was about to be unveiled. The designer was the brand’s chief designer, known for a bold, avant-garde style.
The model pulled back the red velvet cloth. Inside a crystal box lay two shimmering white rings. They weren’t flashy, but featured a “minimalist but not simple” wave pattern. The host introduced the inspiration for the rings, titled “Blue Dream.”
Ye Xing had to admit the rings were heart-stirring. However, she sat far back, only planning to watch the fun and head home as soon as it ended.
In the front row, Shen Yushu sat with a faint smile. Sun Xi, sitting beside her, peeked at her. Mhm, every time the boss ‘gets lucky,’ she looks a few degrees more gentle!
“Assistant Sun,” Shen Yushu said, staring forward with a poised smile. “Performance at the Zhou Island hotel has been good lately. I think being an assistant is wasting your talent. How about I send you there to be the General Manager?”
Sun Xi knew immediately she was in hell. She lowered her head and whispered, “A-Ahem, President Shen… I really didn’t know Miss Ye was in there. If I’d known… I was wrong! I prefer staying by your side to shed blood and tears for the Shen Group. Give me another chance?”
She realized that while Zhou Island was nice, being sent there was effectively exile. She shut her mouth, waiting for Shen Yushu’s judgment.
Before Shen Yushu could continue, a figure dropped into the empty seat beside her. Tao Jingyun, in a deep-V red gown and the full set of jewelry the brand had just gifted her, sat down elegantly. She was the brand’s global ambassador and had been hogging the headlines all night.
But the Best Actress didn’t care about the press right now; her goal was the woman beside her. Her manager had told her the Shen Group was investing in Director Zhang Yi’s new film, and she wanted the lead role.
Shen Yushu felt Tao Jingyun’s burning gaze. Without turning her head, she said indifferently, “Miss Tao, the rings for auction are up there, not on my face.”
Tao Jingyun was surprised. From the red carpet to now, Shen Yushu hadn’t given her a single direct look. As a top-tier Omega, this piqued her competitive spirit. She leaned in and whispered, “President Shen, you’re quite the joker. I just… simply find your face exceptionally beautiful. I like it very much.”
Shen Yushu slowly turned her head. Looking at the woman with misty, bedroom eyes, Shen Yushu’s gaze remained unrippled. She leaned in and said expressionlessly in a voice only they could hear: “Pity. Miss Tao is not my type.”
Tao Jingyun’s expression flickered for a second before she resumed her brilliant smile. Sun Xi, overhearing it all, clicked her tongue. This Best Actress truly acted like a seductive succubus from a movie—too bad she was hitting on a woman who had zero interest in Omegas.
The host started the bidding. “What are you doing?” Shen Yushu suddenly asked Sun Xi.
Sun Xi snapped to attention. “At your command, President Shen!”
Shen Yushu gave her a cold look. “Your mission tonight: get those rings for me. Otherwise, report to Zhou Island tomorrow.” She stood up and left.
Ye Xing found the auction boring. She wanted some fresh air, but as she stood up, she felt a wave of dizziness. As she steadied herself, a soft voice came from behind: “Tired?”
Ye Xing met Shen Yushu’s amber eyes. Her body went stiff. “N-No. I just stood up too fast. A bit dizzy.”
“Want to step out for some air?” Shen Yushu asked.
“No, it’s fine. I’m curious to see who buys the rings.”
Ye Xing wasn’t actually curious, but because of the invitation, she went to sit back down. Before her butt could touch the chair, Shen Yushu’s slender fingers closed around her wrist.
“No need to be curious. Come on, I’ll accompany you out for some air.”
In the hallway, the crystal pillars reflected two tall, slender figures. Only now did Ye Xing realize she and Shen Yushu were wearing the same series of gowns.
They reached the garden. Ye Xing took a deep breath of the cool night air, but ran right into a familiar face.
“Oh, Shen Yushu! I wondered where you were all night. Turns out you’re with your little… neighbor.” Kong Zhen was with Ruan Nian’an. She glanced at their wrists, then looked at Shen Yushu with a raised eyebrow. “Our President Shen is making fast progress. Holding hands already? And wearing couple’s outfits—”
Ye Xing’s face went awkward, and she immediately tried to pull her hand away. Shen Yushu, knowing Kong Zhen’s loose tongue, slowly released her wrist.
“I thought you said you weren’t coming today?” Shen Yushu asked deeply.
“I came to pick up my wife. Problem?”
Ye Xing was about to say she wouldn’t disturb them, but Ruan Nian’an walked over. Their eyes met.
“You are…”
“Are you Shen Yushu’s woman?”
Both spoke at once, but Ruan Nian’an got her question out first.
Ye Xing was dying of embarrassment. After an explanation, Ruan Nian’an laughed and apologized. Ultimately, Ye Xing didn’t get any “fresh air”—her chest felt even tighter.
Looking at Shen Yushu walking ahead of her, Ye Xing thought about how the woman hadn’t offered a single word of clarification during that misunderstanding. She stopped in her tracks and called out, “Shen Yushu, does my face have ‘I am your woman’ written on it?”
Shen Yushu paused. She had been smiling slightly, but she composed herself as she turned back. With a serious look, she replied: “No. Or perhaps, you want it to be?”
