Amnesia Trap (GL) - Chapter 50
Originally, Sheng Zhi had only gone to ask why they were being so slow, but she hadn’t expected the hotel manager to come out and apologize as if facing a formidable enemy, stating it was an intern’s oversight and that it wouldn’t happen again.
The words were sincere, but Sheng Zhi truly had no intention of making things difficult; she didn’t want to listen further and only wanted to return quickly.
However, time was delayed slightly because of this.
When Sheng Zhi returned with the items, the room was as quiet as when she had left, but this silence somehow gave her an indescribable, strange intuition.
It made her instinctively call out: “Ji Qingfan?”
There was no response.
She walked quickly into the master bedroom and felt somewhat relieved to find Ji Qingfan still safely on the bed.
Hadn’t it turned out that no accident had happened?
It must have been her overthinking.
Sheng Zhi went to pour water and wash her hands. After taking out the sobering medicine and getting everything ready, she patted Ji Qingfan: “Wake up.”
Ji Qingfan opened her eyes slightly.
Her cheeks were flushed. Hearing Sheng Zhi’s voice, she rubbed against Sheng Zhi’s hand without warning and murmured incoherently: “Want…” (Note: In Chinese, ‘medicine’ 药 and ‘want’ 要 are homophones—yào)
Seeing that she still knew about the medicine, Sheng Zhi thought she wasn’t that drunk and nodded: “Yes, the sobering medicine.”
As the words fell, Ji Qingfan acted as if she couldn’t process what Sheng Zhi was saying, continuing to rub against her with a murmuring tone: “Want…”
Doing this was quite a struggle. Seeing that she hadn’t gotten up after a while, Sheng Zhi proactively helped her up. Realizing it was indeed not easy to get someone this drunk to take medicine voluntarily, she decided to feed her.
She looked at the medicine’s instruction manual, which specified two tablets per dose. Sheng Zhi took them out and told Ji Qingfan to open her mouth.
She thought simply: what was the difference between feeding someone and taking medicine oneself? The process was just a few steps—put the tablets in the mouth, then drink some water to swallow.
However, as soon as she held the tablets to Ji Qingfan’s lips and sent them in, before she could even provide water, the tablets were spat out the next second.
Sheng Zhi scrambled to catch them. Hearing Ji Qingfan still murmuring ‘want/medicine’, her eyes quirked up in frustrated distress: “If you want medicine, don’t spit it out.”
Her tone carried a hint of aggression. After speaking, she looked at the spat-out tablets. After a brief hesitation, she took a new tablet. Perhaps because of the previous failure, she used a bit of force to lift Ji Qingfan’s chin, her fingers steadying the cheek and the corner of the mouth.
Surely she wouldn’t spit it out easily this time?
“You are not allowed to spit it out again.” As she said this, she felt her fingertip being touched very lightly and softly.
Ji Qingfan was looking at her. Her eyelids were tinged with a thin layer of crimson, and she licked her lip again.
Sheng Zhi felt as if she had been burned; she withdrew her hand and moved to feed her water.
Due to the hurried movements and the fact that the recipient wasn’t being very cooperative, water ended up everywhere—trailing from the corner of her lips down onto her clothes.
Sheng Zhi hadn’t expected it to be this difficult. She bit her lip, and with the mindset that the water was already spilled anyway, she continued to feed her.
The sobering medicine was finally swallowed, but Ji Qingfan seemed to choke, coughing uncontrollably. Seeing this, Sheng Zhi didn’t dare feed her more water and instead stroked her back to soothe her breathing.
“Are you better?” Sheng Zhi’s head was practically spinning as she looked at Ji Qingfan, who had choked to the point of tears.
Ji Qingfan was almost entirely nestled in her embrace, her voice still sounding very uncomfortable. She pressed against Sheng Zhi’s chest; those tears from choking seemed endless, dampening Sheng Zhi’s clothes.
“I want…” She pressed even closer to her, seemingly in unbearable distress.
At some point, her hand had slipped under Sheng Zhi’s clothes.
It wasn’t until Ji Qingfan’s hand was wandering over her waist that Sheng Zhi finally understood that the “medicine” (yào) she had been murmuring for a long time was actually the other “want” (yào).
She reached back and caught the hand that was still wandering around, her long eyelashes trembling with a hint of bewilderment: “You…”
Ji Qingfan’s face was still very red, her eyes filled with a vibrant hue and lingering moisture.
Now that her hand had been caught and pulled out, she didn’t touch her again, but she began to press closer even more proactively.
All the faint oddities and subtleties from before finally connected in this moment; Sheng Zhi finally realized this wasn’t simple drunkenness.
In this state, she could only have been drugged.
…Was it Jing Mu?
She felt a surge of cold disgust, never expecting the other party would use such tactics. She suddenly felt that the kick she delivered earlier had been too light.
But that wasn’t the most pressing issue.
Sheng Zhi met Ji Qingfan’s gaze. It was an invisible gaze, yet under it, she felt as if she were being seen through entirely, making her instinctively want to retreat.
While contacting a private hospital, Sheng Zhi called her name, her voice almost stumbling: “Ji Qingfan, try to stay conscious. Don’t let the drug control you. You’re too out of it right now. No, I have to take you to the hospital…”
Watching her retreat, Ji Qingfan seemed to misunderstand, thinking she was leaving. Fearing her departure, she used her weight to lean in and press her down without another word.
“Don’t go, don’t go, don’t leave me.” she moaned softly, her voice becoming tinged with moisture.
Her movements were abrupt and caught Sheng Zhi off guard. Sheng Zhi didn’t have time to react before being pressed directly into the soft bed.
She looked at Ji Qingfan, knowing she wasn’t very lucid, and tried to get up: “I mean we’re going to the hospital.”
Ji Qingfan couldn’t hear what she was saying; she could only interpret from her actions a sense of departure and rejection.
“Why not? I really, really feel so miserable.”
All her strength seemed to have been used in that push just now; as she spoke, she collapsed onto Sheng Zhi, panting and exhausted.
It was like a fruit that shouldn’t appear in this season had suddenly ripened; the branches swaying in the wind could not bear the weight, swaying on the verge of collapse, as a sweet fragrance filled the air.
As soon as Sheng Zhi moved, she began to cling to her recklessly again, desperately not wanting her to leave, full of dependency.
Their heights weren’t particularly different, and now they were completely pressed together. Leg against leg, chest against chest—so tight they could clearly feel each other’s breathing. Every movement triggered even more physical contact.
Their breathing rhythms were completely out of sync, and their long hair intertwined as if endowed with a different kind of vitality. The atmosphere was tangled and sticky.
Ji Qingfan rubbed up messily from the base of Sheng Zhi’s ear. The breath falling by her lips was piteously weak, fragile and helpless: “Help me, why won’t you…”
She looked very confused and bewildered, not understanding why she wouldn’t help her, so her sense of grievance was exceptionally strong. The precarious fruit had fallen.
Sheng Zhi found it a bit hard to breathe; her heartbeat was a chaotic mess, as if broken. Every image and movement was stimulating and provocative. Her reason clearly understood that they couldn’t go on like this, but her senses couldn’t help but shiver.
As if sensing Sheng Zhi’s conflicted emotions, Ji Qingfan began to kiss her just as she opened her lips to say something. Fearing she would dodge, Ji Qingfan cupped her face with her hands, her eyes half-closed in enjoyment.
Bit by bit, kiss by kiss.
Their lips turned into an equally damp watery red. The person initiating the kiss seemed even more restless during the process, becoming increasingly undisguised.
After realizing what Ji Qingfan was doing, Sheng Zhi was so embarrassed that her exposed skin nearly turned pink.
“Get up first, I’m taking you to the hospital.” She pushed her, trying to pull Ji Qingfan off her body.
But she wouldn’t cooperate at all, inseparable from her like a vine. Her eyes were intoxicated, and her voice was intermittent like her movements.
Ji Qingfan rubbed her nose against her, carrying an overt plea and heat: “Help me, please…”
They were simply too close. Even if Ji Qingfan couldn’t grab her, she could reach out and hook onto part of her clothes.
Sheng Zhi had no choice but to grab the hand Ji Qingfan was using to clutch her clothes, only to instinctively withdraw her fingertips after touching a hand that was far too delicately moist.
After realizing what she had touched, she became even more uncomfortable, her whole body shivering.
Ji Qingfan leaned into her, the moisture under her thick lashes nearly overflowing, seeking intimacy. Sheng Zhi didn’t want to answer her, but that damp sensation wouldn’t go away; she could only keep trying to pull her away.
One wanted to pull back, the other insisted on staying close. They struggled, gradually rolling from one side of the bed to the other.
The large bed, which had been fairly tidy a moment ago, now had many wrinkled marks. Fortunately, the bed was large enough, otherwise they might have rolled onto the floor by now.
Ji Qingfan’s breathing was very labored, and the hand hooking her clothes clearly lost its strength.
Sheng Zhi seized the opportunity, flipped over, and pinned her down. Fearing she would rub against her again, she grabbed her wrist with her other hand and pinned it above her head.
Compared to Ji Qingfan, it was actually Sheng Zhi’s clothes that had come completely undone during the struggle, and her breathing was also chaotic.
But as she looked at Ji Qingfan, before her breath even steadied, her beautiful eyes first carried a hint of triumph for having gained the upper hand.
—She had finally pinned her down.
She let out a long breath, even briefly forgetting the situation they were in, and said arrogantly: “Go on then, why aren’t you continuing?”
Ji Qingfan met her gaze, her eyes watery, panting softly. She had a light sweat, but she didn’t look pathetic. Under the light, she looked sparkling, and her expression had a strange charm.
As Sheng Zhi watched, by the time she realized what she was doing, she had already lowered her head and leaned in. She hadn’t even had the thought to do so; simply looking at her like this made her kiss her for no reason and without explanation.
She was brought back to her senses by the feeling of soft contact and tried to stop in a panic.
But Ji Qingfan quickly responded. Entanglement, mutual exchange.
It wasn’t until the phone rang that Sheng Zhi woke up again like a dream. Like someone who had fallen into the tide, she suddenly surfaced.
The call was from the private hospital. A bit of time had passed since they received Sheng Zhi’s contact. She had sounded very urgent when she called, yet she hadn’t arrived, so the hospital couldn’t help but call to inquire out of concern.
Sheng Zhi replied “okay” on the phone. After hanging up, she looked at Ji Qingfan, then at her own appearance, and then, her face flushing crimson, she bit her lip hard.
They certainly couldn’t appear at the hospital looking like this.
…They needed to tidy up first.
